Salutations my faithful flock
Let's talk about music piracy.
I have recently started to sell my CD collection and I very well could sell my vinyl collection as well. Why am I doing this you may ask - it is for two reasons: A) I need the space. B) I don't listen to any of it.
I get most of my music from Spotify these days. Sure, compression can ruin the sound, whatever, but I listen to it for the EASE of having everything in one tiny box. A lot of people LOVE having the discs and the art and the vinyl in their hands. I know this feeling and I love it too, but at this stage... I am happier to have it all on my phone, on my PC, all stored easily.

Now, when I get a CD, I will rip it and put it on my phone. I have been doing this for years now. I never considered this theft as I have paid for the music I am listening to. But with the selling of my CDs, should I delete the mp3s? I don't think I should, but some people will say yes. Some people will say I should have never ripped them in the first place.
There is another layer a lot of people skip with this stuff - if you buy a CD and rip the music and then SELL the disc... are you denying a sale to that band? If I buy a CD and then sell it for a reduced price, someone else is going to buy it and that is one less sale that band will receive. Is this wrong? I'm not sure if it is.

In this day and age it is very easy to steal music, but it is still real easy to support bands. If they have their music on Spotify, it is legal for you to listen to it, so if you don't want to pay go and listen there. Sure the band might not make as much money as if you buy a disc, but it's not illegal to listen to Spotify so go for it. Buy CDs, buy download codes. A lot of download albums are under a fiver. Go and support the bands you like!
